Sotheyranfasterandfastertillitwasmorelikeflyingthanrunning,andeventheEagleoverheadwasgoingnofasterthanthey.Andtheywentthroughwindingvalleyafterwindingvalleyandupthesteepsidesofhillsand,fasterthanever,downtheotherside,followingtheriverandsometimescrossingitandskimmingacrossmountainlakesasiftheywerelivingspeed-boats,tillatlastatthefarendofonelonglakewhichlookedasblueasaturquoise,theysawasmoothgreenhill.Itssideswereassteepasthesidesofapyramidandroundtheverytopofitranagreenwall:butabovethewallrosethebranchesoftreeswhoseleaveslookedlikesilverandtheirfruitlikegold.
